This practice is committed in providing comprehensive general practice care to all individuals and families. All patient consultations and medical records are kept strictly confidential.

Monday to Friday: 7:00am - 6:30pm

Saturday: 7:00am - 1:00pm

After Hours Service

Phone 6231 6068 or 6231 8871 and you will be advised of details for the doctor on call.

A different consultation fee may apply for emergency consultations after hours.

Home and Nursing Home Visits

Home visits can be arranged at the doctor's discretion for patients not able to attend the surgery.

Appointments

Kambah Medical Centre is a bulk-billing practice, for all Medicare claimable consultations. You are required to bring your valid Medicare card as the claims are processed electronically at each visit. You will be charged the private fee if a valid Medicare card is not produced.

Consultations are strictly by appointment only. Please provide at least one hour notice if you wish to cancel your appointment. A missed appointment fee ($75) will be charged if you do not inform us and fail to attend your appointment.

If you wish to have a longer appointment to discuss more complex problems, please ask to book a longer consultation.

Occasionally, unforseen situations, complex medical conditions or emergencies may cause a delay with appointments. We will notify you of any delay as soon as possible. We thank you for your patience in situations beyond our control.

Travel advice and vaccinations.

Childhood immunisation (free government approved vaccines)

Adult immunisation (free flu & pneumococcal vaccines for over 65 years of age)

Women's health (cervical screenings, family planning advice, etc)

Antenatal Care (shared care with hospital's antenatal clinic)

Minor surgery (suturing, excision of skin lesions, cryotherapy, plastering, etc.)

Medical examinations for pre-employment insurance, drivers, etc.

GP Mental Health Plan (For existing patients, 20 minutes appointments required)

Fees for non-Medicare items

Work injury compensation consultations, motor vehicle accident consultations , pre-employment medical checks and driver's license medical examinations do not attract Medicare rebates and are billed below at the following rates:

Third party / Compensation Level B - $90.00

Third party / Compensation Level C - $165.00

Third party / Compensation Level D - $255.00

Commercial driving / pre-employment medical - $100

Iron Infusion - $150.00

Private "Standard" consultation fees - $80.00

Private" Long" Consultation fees -$150.00

Minor surgeries including implanon insertion/removal, cryotherapy and excisions may also incur an extra charge to cover the cost of surgical equipment. We will inform you of any potential fees when you book an appointment for minor surgery.

Please note we do not currently have EFTPOS facilities.

Pathology Collection

Our practice has an onsite Laverty Pathology collection lab. The lab is open Monday to Friday 8am-4pm, and Saturday 8am-12pm. Different fees may apply.

Telephone policy

Telephone requests for prescriptions and referrals are not encouraged. Requests are accepted only in exceptional circumstances and with at least 24 hours notice. A $10 charge applies for this service ($10.00).

You are encouraged to consult your doctor rather than requesting for prescription if your last consultation was more than 3 months, except in exceptional circumstances.

Doctors are available for telephone contact, however, if the doctor is with a patient a message will be taken and your call will be returned at the first available opportunity.

Follow-up procedure

It is not the policy of this practice to give results over the phone. If you would like to review your results with the doctor, you must make an appointment.

Doctors review test results promptly. You will be contacted if anything in your results requires discussion. Non-urgent follow ups will receive an SMS advising them to make an appointment, followed by a reminder letter. In the case of any urgent results, you will be phoned immediately by your doctor or a member of the reception staff.

Please ensure to advise reception of any changes to your contact details to ensure a timely follow up of your results.

Privacy

Your medical record is a confidential document and your privacy is extremely important to us. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times, and to ensure that this information is only available to authorized members of staff. Ask at the front desk for a detailed description of our practice's privacy policy.
